A star is born

Though I’m still playing a lot more DDO than I probably should, I’ve gotten involved in something new – Project Starborn.

Starborn is expected to go live in December, but we’re getting the word out now. If you’ve played Minecraft (which, sadly, I haven’t), it’s kind of along the same idea, but MUCH enhanced, improved and upgraded.

The ease of user content creation really impresses me about Starborn. Before I found DDO, I used to play Second Life a LOT. One of the things I miss about SL is the ability to make stuff – build houses, landscape, and the like. But while various people have made combat systems to use in SL, there’s really nothing to compare to things like DDO.

Project Starborn gives you the ability to make stuff – you’ll be able to design and build your own structures, or download blueprints from a website right in the game and immediately use them to put buildings up. And it also has options to make pretty much any kind of gaming environment you want – combat, PvP, sports, etc.

Please do check out the website and Facebook page. You can also find us on Twitter as @ProjectStarborn (and for those of you who know how much I “love” Twitter, rest assured – the person handling our twitting is not me). Feel free to share, like, blog – anything to get the word out! If you have any questions, just let me know; I’m one of the people handling info requests from the media, so if I don’t know the answers, I’ll know where to get them.

Go Starborn! 😀
